Polk Audio Atrium6 Outdoor Speakers

Review of Polk Audio Outdoor Speakers

The Polk Audio Atrium 6 Speakers  could pass for an indoor speaker with its excellent sound quality but with the durability of an outdoor speaker. Don’t let the small sizepolk atrium 6 outdoor speakers of these speakers deter you, as most consumers rave that the power of this particular speaker exceeds expectations with their booming bass and performance. These speakers come equipped with an aluminum bracket and grille, brass and stainless hardware, and selection of a black or white finish.

They feature a 5.25″ long-throw aerated polypropylene cone driver with butyl rubber surround and 1″ anodized aluminum dome tweeter and neodymium magnet for better power handling and smoother response. The Atrium6 series is all weather certified and has been engineered to endure the most rigorous weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain and snow. They’ve succeeded in passing a drop test, UV and salt exposure, as well as a signal response test. In a nutshell, lets just say they are built to last a lifetime both inside and out.

The Atrium6 series is loaded with an RMS power range of 100-watts, a total frequency response of 50Hz-27kHz, and a nominal impedance of 8 polk atrium6ohms. With an 8.8” depth, 7.8” width and 11.8” height, these speakers weigh in at a measly 5.4 lbs each. For those with not a lot of space to work with, their compact design gives them an advantage to their bulkier competitors, such as Definitive Technology’s 12 lb AW6500 series. That being said, some feel the bass response is lacking in comparison. Even still, we have found the Polk Audio Atrium 6 speakers are very well rounded and deliver incredible clarity at all volumes.

The Speed-Lock Mounting System allows for a simple and safe installation with fewer parts to manage. Additionally, they can be mounted at an angle with a 180 degree swivel to guarantee the best listening experience wherever you may be. Keep in mind that the quality of speaker wire can affect the quality of sound that your speaker produces. Therefore, a quality, branded speaker wire such as Monster Cable, AudioQuest or Kimber Kable is recommended.

Polk prides their selves in having a gold standard customer service. They are available for questions and support by email or phone and promise a real live human will assist in any question you might have. Additionally, a five year parts and labor warranty is included with your purchase (only for the original purchaser).
